Toddlers' & Teens' Trauma on the Border: The Humane Solution

Dr Norman Quintero

'Suffer the little children and forbid them not ….' ( - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John)

In an open letter to POTUS, his advisers/family, the Cabinet, and Congress, Senior Pastor, Dr. Norman Quintero has again volunteered massive nationwide, nonprofit, resources to protect and defend the human rights, physical and psychological welfare, among those 1,000’s of immigrant children who do not have the means by which to protect and defend themselves. Feeding, housing, educating and providing healthcare for those in need has been a full-time business, with a full-time staff, since the 1990’s.

Over decades, under his direction, 501(c)(3) charities such as NQR Corp, Iglesia Getsemani and Iglesia Casa del Alfarero have continued to impact the lives of more than 1 million children, 100’s of 1,000’s of the homeless, low-income families and veterans. His non-denominational church and its record of altruism span the USA – from California to Florida – and beyond. Extensive documentation, articles and personal accounts attest to the philanthropic achievements and are readily available online or upon request.

"This isn't, has never been, about politics, polls or popularity. We have always been advocates of human rights, common sense and common decency. We've always opposed regressive taxation, gun violence, injustice and exploitation. We've always been there in response to natural disasters and personal circumstance. But no issues have ever been so crucial than those which confront these innocent kids on only one of our man-made borders."

Dr. Norman Quintero, Senior Pastor

Among the multiple facilities and affiliated organizations, among many states and an extensive staff of highly-trained, dedicated, professionals/volunteers, an interim resolution is readily available – eagerly offered. The current federal system of private for-profit contractors, questionably-qualified, randomly-recruited, personnel and makeshift accommodations simply cannot provide the nutrition or nurture of an organization that has been established on exclusively humanitarian foundations.

For more than 20 years, Iglesia Getsemani, its congregation and Senior Pastor have devoted their passion and participation to an array of causes toward social justice. The protection of children has always been the common thread and primary objectives: “No child should sleep on a concrete floor, be locked in a cage or otherwise be treated as a criminal. All children are entitled to empathy, education and expert medical care.” This concept is the fundamental request and demand of Dr. Quintero’s letter to those who are either more concerned with the 2018 elections, or are unconcerned altogether.

This past week his sole focus on the children has led to a “100% Tolerance Policy”, more Biblically-accurate alternative, to the southern border chaos. In a recent interview, Dr. Quintero emphasized, “This isn’t, has never been, about politics, polls or popularity. We have always been advocates of human rights, common sense and common decency.  We’ve always opposed regressive taxation, gun violence, injustice and exploitation. We’ve always been there in response to natural disasters and personal circumstance. But no issues have ever been so crucial than those which confront these innocent kids on only one of our man-made borders.”

Addressed to POTUS, his family and advisers, Dr. Quintero’s open letter is equally a call to all rational members of government and the citizenry as well.
